Emily Evans lives and breathes horses, having owned and ridden horses for over 20 years, with a real passion for horse welfare and performance.

Growing up on a small farm in country Victoria Emily was an active member of local pony clubs; frequenting training days and competitions in Dressage, Show Jumping, Showing and Eventing. Always complimented on the condition and fitness of her horses Emily is dedicated to horse health, wellbeing and the importance of correctly fitting tack.

From her first Arab x Stock Horse to her subsequent Clydesdale Cross, Holsteiner Warmblood, OTT Thoroughbreds and new Fresian Cross gelding she has experience with a wide variety of horse body types and enjoys the challenge of training and finding the right gear to suit each individual horse’s needs.

After completing high school Emily obtained certificates in Equine and Animal Studies while working at a Dressage yard and Thoroughbred stud. She then chose to attend university to complete her Bachelor of Environmental Science (Marine Biology). However while working in the marine science field Emily’s passion for horses never subsided, leading her to return to work as an equestrian manager at a Hunter Valley based Warmblood stud.

Emily is an honorary local, having lived and worked in the Maitland/Newcastle region for the past 8 years. In this time she has enjoyed building connections with local equestrian clubs, trainers, body workers and equine health professionals. Emily is looking forward to using her skills and experience through Saddle Up to help other horse owners on their riding journeys.
